did the 87 camaro that came out with the 2.8L v6, come with the 700r4 tranny. Im wanting to put a v8 in it and im wanting to know if the tranny that the 2.8 is hook to will bolt up to a v8. the guy i got it from said it is a 700r4 but i do not know how to tell the difference between them, thanks.

 

They were all 700R's after like 83 i believe, and the only acception to that was the TTA, but otherwise, you cannot mix and match v6 tranny's to v8s. Many people try and use v6 t5 manual tranny's, but they fail because they can't hold the torque. Same thing would happen if you tried using a v6 700r4, even though it wouldn't even come close to bolting up.
