Car: 96 Z28 And 91 conv trans am
Engine: 5.7, 5.0
Transmission: Auto Both
Axle/Gears: 3.23 and 2.73
procedures on filing a rebuilt 4l60E
I NEED TO HOW MANY QUARTS IT TAKE TO FILL A REBUILT TRANS 4L60E ON A 1996 Z28. DO I Have to add fluid to the converter? what are the procedures on filing a rebuilt 4l60E everything. anyone no of a web site that has all these thanks

3.4l is 8.4 Qts overhauled
v8 is 11.2 Qts overhauled
Now this number could be different for you trans
and theses numbers are do not torque converter
now what i always do is put 5 Qts in turn the car on then add to it full well the car is on now if you dont reach the full line in 20 -30 secs of car being on wait 30 mins for totally cool down and try there after to its at the full line.

your suppose to be full hot, not full cold.
unless the dip stick is marked for cold and hot full lines.
