I have a 700r4 tranny and i want a 3.73 posi final drive, but i cant seem to find exactly what parts i will need to buy and where/ how much it will cost to get it installed? Ive searched the forum for quite a while but cant seem to get a definite answer. If someone could tell me what parts i need and give an estimate on costs i would greatly appreciate it.

 

for 3.73s youll need a ring and pinion set, an installation kit, i owuld do axle seals while you are in there

motive ring and pinion set approx 180.00
installation kit...........................30-55 .00
axle seals..................................5.00 each
gear oil.....................................8.00(3)
new limited slip diff.........390.00-450.00
installation will run approx 250.00 to 400.00
depending who you have do it

last but not least you will need to change your speedometer gears in the transmission or your speedometer will be off

 

I recommend the Eaton Posi and get a GOOD installation kit. Don't buy the cheaper installation kits. They aren't worth the box that they are packed in. Also get a good quality gear, not the bargan brands. Good parts are well worth the extra money.
