I must admit, I've never seen that video before. Just goes to show that OEM style clutches and flywheels only belong behind an OEM engine. That's not saying that race parts don't explode.
Here's a Promod clutch explosion. This would scare the hell out of anyone who was driving. It explodes just as he's reaching over to push the air shift button.

A few years ago I was at a race and was sitting at the head of the staging lines waiting for a Promod to make a pass. I had to sit longer than normal because it blew up the tranny right on the line.
Just as the car launched, the 727 tranny let go. The clutch hub went through the tranny case, through the Kevlar blanket, through the floor, bounced off the passenger door bar putting a bent in it, through the steel door blowing out the glass window and finally sailed about 300 feet over the grandstand into a car windshield. Nobody got hurt but it was spectacular.




All these different transmission and clutch explosions is why we need to have all the shields. If this clutch hub went out on the driver's side of the floor, it would have cut both his legs off.
