tko swap and parts question, need clarfied
hey guys,
I am going to do a tko-600 swap soon, but have a few questions.
I have searched and seen two different ways to do this......one is with a fortes trans to t5 bellhousing adapter and special pilot bearing (and I believe the ford tko with longer input shaft)
and the second way is with lakewood bellhousing bolted directly to a gm style tko tranny. Both seem to work, but which one works better.
I noticed on the trans using the fortes adapter, that the shifter needs to be modded slightly back to get it to work and clear in stock location.
Is this the same for the lakewood setup???
on tko website it says the shifter location is 19.5 inches from back mounting surface of bellhousing (where it meets tranny I believe) to the center of shifter. Is this correct??
any info on part numbers, pics, and setups would be very useful.
thanks in advance.
