tranny question

my '82 trans am needs a new tranny and i have an offer to get a 700r4 from a '90 chevy van. will the trans swap right in?

the '90 chevy van has an electric speedo. for me to change it to cable driven would all i have to do is swap out the tail housing with one from another 700r4? or can i use the tail housing from my 200c?

will the mounts be different from the 700r4 to the 200c if the tail housings are interchangeable? if not, what gm vehicles that have a 700r4 can i use a tail housing from?

Re: tranny question

You'll need a tailshaft housing from a thirdgen 700R4, the one from the van doesn't have the torque arm bracket mounting provisions.
