Car: 88 iroc

Engine: 350 bored .40 reman vortec heads

Transmission: 700r4

what torque converter is better 30 spline or 27

here is what i have i have the tranny that came out of my 88 camaro that is toast 700r4. just bought an older 700r4 with 90000 miles it has a 27 spline should i use the 30 or 27 the 30 came from my 88 tranny. I am just going to put a vette servo in the used one an hope it holds up for a while. we are going to put 400 to 425 hp to it. thanx to all your great.

More splines = larger diameter. Larger diameter = stronger

BEFORE you install ANYTHING, put the 30 spline converer on the 27 spline tranny and spin the converter.......

Oops, I assumed that would be known but some people don't grasp the concept.

27 and 30 spline converters are not interchangeable without changing other components. If you have a transmission designed for a 27 spline converter and installed a 30 spline converter, it would go on but the splines would not engage and the converter would not work. If you had a transmission designed for a 30 spline converter, the 27 spline converter will not even go on.
