I have a 1987 GTA trans am that is in extremely good condition. New 383 stroker that has only 1200 miles on it and makes around 500HP. Only used things on the car is the frame, carb, and the 700r4.. Well the 700r bit the dust a few days ago and Im looking for a manual upgrade. The only feasible upgrade would be a T56.

I called all junkyards around me, searched craigslist, and ebay with not much luck. Only 1 junkyard can order me one out of a wrecked car for $1350 with no warranty, and that dosent even include the shifter.

Autozone has a T56 that comes with pilot bearing, throw out bearing, shifter , clutch alighnment tool ect, and the t56 is rebuilt. That will cost $1800 and has a 1 year warranty. Plus if i buy one of there clutch kits which include the pressure plate and such has a lifetime warranty! And thats under $200.

So how bad of a deal would this be? I def want a warranty if i get this transmission. Everything else on the car is new so why not? Lol thanks alot.
