Excited for Gear change tomorrow 2.73 to 3.42, build my anticipation and comment
I have a 1992 Z28 vert that I have re-fallen in love for. I added alston subframe connectors and a time patch set of kyb shocks and holy hell it made a huge difference! I like the car again, rather than being afraid to drive it for fear of more fatigue.
The car is a a swapped 350tpi from my old 1991(which got the 305 from the vert), with a built, shift kitted 700r4(from the 1991). It has the usuals, strut tower brace, lca's, panhard, sportline springs, poly bushings, steering brace ect.
I have found that the 350, 700r4, just dislikes the rear 2.73's, 4th gear in full lockup happens so prematurely and the off the line accel just isnt what it was with the 3.23's in the 1991 z coupe.
So today I ordered my 3.43's and cannot wait to liven up the in town daily driver experience.
Has anyone done this swap with a engine trans combo like this? Because I cant wait. Whats your feel?

Sounds like a GREAT plan! I am wanting something a little better as well - those 2.73's are not worth it! Keep us posted on it!

I did a similar swap from 2.73 with worn out posi to a 4th gen rear 3.42 posi and it was great. I pulled out the drive and tried to casually accelerate to make sure everything was put on right and I accidentally laid about 10 feet of rubber. My trans now chirps second and accelerating on the highway is wonderful, cruising at 60 and nailing it is like immediately jumping to 80 when it downshifts. your gonna be HAPPY.

Sounds sweet! I am currently looking for a rear with 3.42's for my '92 that has 2.73's. Let us know how it goes and what you think. Good luck.
