So here's the question to those of you running a T56:
How many miles do you have on your stock-build T56...
Are there any wear-related issues beginning to show...
Driving style...
LS or LT spec.
Reason I ask... I've been keeping my eye out for T56 setups for a while, and I always get a bit leery when seeing ones for sale with 100k plus. I know there's a million different variables that determine the longevity of any trans, but I'm just curious to see how many miles people have been able to get out of these units...

The Hard parts are not going to break with power levels below 600hp- this a just a generalization as there are many variables that decide this....but slicks, 5500 launch's, 1.4 60's...you get the idea...

The gears should hold up just fine but the shifting components seem to wear out first. Shift forks, pads, syncros, keys. The T56 I put in was only supposed to have 30,000 miles but it had two broke syncro keys. The second gear syncro was toast and all the shift fork pads were shot. It cost about $300 for the parts so that's not too bad. Did the rebuild myself.

I think i bought my T56 with about 80 000 mi on it.The synchros will tell you alot about how it was driven.
In my case, it shifted really smooth and effortlessly (good synchros). I beat the snot out of it when driving, and it took every bit of it.
In short, they last a LONG time.
