Anyone running Dexron VI in there 700r4? I just changed my fluid and installed Dex VI and the shifts seem much softer but smooth and quick. Just wondering if this is normal? The Dexron I used is Valvoline synthetic Dexron VI.

 

i dont know about this fluid, but tell me how it is after a month or so, i need to tune my car up BADDD and change all the fluids.

 

It has been a month already, like I said the shifts seem smooth yet fast compared to Dexron III, this is in my TCI 700r4 street fighter transmission. It use to have a real firm shift with Dex III and with this fluid it is shifting like my wifes 4l60e in her Bravada almost Cadillac smooth even though it has a shift kit in it...just wondering if I should change the fluid back to Dexron III. I Do not notice it slipping at all but these real smooth shifts have me conserned that maybe it will start down the road or is it just how this fluid feels?

 

hmmm maybe the fluid lubricates differently than the old fluid. if its synthetic i wouldnt doubt that it is shifting so smoothly, but otherwise i wudnt keep it out of mind, but i wouldnt worry too much.
