Im looking for help deciding on what stall converter to buy, My motor is a 383 sbc etec 200 cc heads, holley stealthram,30lb injecters,comp 280xfi camshaft 576/570lift duration at 50 280/288 rpm range 2000 to 6000 This car will be my daily driver it also will see the dragstrip on weekends.Will 3000 stall be too much.What brand do you recomend? I forgot it has the the 700r4 transmission.

 

If this still has a 700r4 trans, don't worry about having too much stall on the street. When the converter locks, could lock as early as 3rd gear...35mph and above, the stall no longer has any effect. I'd have no problem putting a 3000 stall on that. I have a custom converter in mine, and it works much better than the last one I had. My trans. builder had me talk to Brian at BDR Converters, and he seems to know quite a bit and his converter was definitely cheap for how it performs. Even if you only talk to him, I'd suggest calling him and possibly other converter companies. BDR's number is 716-200-7632 and tell him Chris with the big turbo 82 Camaro told you about him.
