2 questions..slipping transmission, and lots of oil loss..

what would cause my transmission to slip, ONLY in drive? i have a b&m shifter in my automatic 305. If i drive it the way the B&m was made for (1st...shift, 2nd...shift...3rd...shift...overdrive) then it seems ok. My shift **** broke off...yes, BROKE right off. so I have been just putting it in drive and driving it like an automatic. and usually once it shifts into second, after a few seconds it slips and acts like its in neutral until i let off the gas for a few seconds. I have also been noticing rapid oil loss. I haven't seen any spots under my car, so I'm guessing its burning off. But why? and yes, i have tried driving it after filling up my oil and it still slips. but like i said. it only does it in drive. any help?

the forward clutch is engaged in all forward gears. overrun clutch is engaged in all forward ranges except OD. forward sprag is holding in 1,2, &3. 2-4 band is holding in 2nd and 4th. maybe this can help you diagnose your problem. see if you have tranny fliud in the radiator
