t5 build up or t56
is it worth the money to get my t5 redone (because the syicro is F**T) or should i keep trying to find a t56,
i know the t56 is rated better in the torque department but its been hard for me to find one,, so is it possible to build a t5 up stronger??? or is it a waste of money.
thanks Sean

Re: t5 build up or t56
I would repair the T5 and drive it nicely til you can get a T56. Just remember a T56 is also in need of some newer upgraded parts aswell and they are much more expensive to repair!
Cannot tell you the exact number of T5s i went through in my 3rd gens(A LOT) had $$$$ in a few that worked well for a while but when you lay the TQ down the T5 begins to show its limits...
I have been running my T56 96Z for 7 years and have had it gone through 2 times now.

Re: t5 build up or t56
Look around for a high mileage T-56 from an LT1 car, preferably the 94-97's because of the steeper overdrive ratio, and just have it rebuilt by Tick Performance. That's exactly what I'll be doing when I get my hands on a T-56.
"Recommended for all applications greater than 600ft/lbs of torque (rear wheel) - our level three rebuild is for the most EXTREME setups around! If you make BIG power, drive very aggressively and like to race HARD, you need our Level Three EXTREME Viper T56 Rebuild. This package consists of everything in Level Two, plus:
