rear end gearsize
i have 2 camaros and my project is an 89 rs i was thinking about swapping axels with my 84 ho 305 as i heard that they have better axels. I was told the gears in the 89 were the weak gears also put into the S10 of that year. does anyone have any insight on this and what i should do. the project motor to put in the 89 will either be a 350 or 383 with around 400 hp/400tq if this hels any.

Re: rear end gearsize
so would i need to upgrade to like a 4.10 if i have a 3.73 or only if i have like a 3.23?
Re: rear end gearsize
The S10 and the 3rd gen Camaro got the same gears every year. There is no difference in a S10 gear and a 3rd gen Camaro gear. You probably have 26 spline axles in both rear ends, but you can pull an axle out of the '89 and check it. There is a chance that it has 28 spline axles.
