For my 10 bolt, I can get either the 7.5 or 7.625 posi right?

I saw that the 7.625 requires 28 spline axles, whereas the 7.5 requires the stock axles (26 spline).

I'd prefer to get the 7.625 and 28 spline axles, to make it a bit stronger.

Anyway, thanks to anyone who can answer this question.

Hello New2Chevy!!

IIRC, as long as you get the posi with the 28 spline side gears, 28 spline axles, and the proper bearings, it should all work for you!!

IIRC the 7.5 vs 7.65 was just a difference between the spline count, and the bearing size!!

Hello New2Chevy!!

I read somwhere that the ring gear isn't even any different in size, and that the 7.65 was a number used to differentiate between the two "rears" slight differences!!

That info could really be wrong, as I stated, I read this somewhere!! Internet, magazine, I don't remember, and I haven't been able to actually physically verify that info!!

The 7.625 was introduced around 86, but 28-spline axles weren't introduced until late 89. If you haven't seen the 10-bolt FAQ, check below:
