pretty much any appropriate gear oil will be fine, as long as it has the additive for the non slip. personally i use royal purple. my posi wasnt working when i bought the car and i just thought it was fried, until i started using royal purple gear oil. now it works like a dream.

Well theres 75w-140 and 80w-90. I'm leaning towards the 75w-140

I put 75W140 Amsoil in mine to try to reduce the noise. It also helps with the towing that I do. This is in my S10 4X4.

I found the install guide online.

It calls for 75w140 so thats what i'm going with. Was going to use royal purple gear oil. Is it worth it or just alot of hype ?

Re: What gear oil for powertrax no slip

ive seen a lot of car shows on tv do actual dyno testing with royal purple(usually just engine oil) and they always see an increase of a couple horses over other brands. i swapped all my fluids over (engine oil, trans fluid, and gear oil) and i noticed a difference.
