Last week i just dropped in my 305 in my car in place of my 3.1 v6 motor. Now i have to install the 700r4 trans.I dont have a transmission jack but i do have a semi big floor jack. Can you guys give me acouple tips on installing transmissions in f-bodys Thanks.

 

The most important thing I can say is make sure that your detent cable is properly adjusted, on the detent there is a lock you need to press this in and pull the cable all the way back then release the lock. then to adjust simply move linkage to wide open. If I remember right it needs to be tight just to the point of pulling the mechanism inside of the trans, basically take all of the play out or it will not shift correctly and will burn up the overdrive portion of the trans. I do know that there has been a lot of discussion on here about it so im sure that someone has been a bit more helpful than I am but I do know that it is very important
