Hopefully someone can give me some infor on my very unique problem....First off its a 1985 reman 700r4 about 4 years old but hardly any miles, maybe a 1000 since I only drive my car in the summer, and rarely at that. Worked flawlessly-had a a very firm shift kit chirps from 1-2 and 2-3. Parked it for the last year and a half since im a college student and money is tight. worked fine until I parked it, but the first time I drove it after being parked it would only work for about a mile, then it would just lose all forward gears, until you slowed down to a crawl, then it will shift firmly into 1st. Good to 30 mph, then it does the same sh*t all over again. fluild is red and doesnt look or smell burnt. havent adjusted the tv cable since trans went in. has park and reverse. Im hopin its a stuck valve or the governer or something simple???????

Thanks for the help!!!! Do I need to drop the valve body right away, or can some trans cleaner like seafoam fix something like that?

 

ummm ... I think it be better for a professional to drop the valve body and visually inspect it... You don't really want a $5 dollar part to cost you 2K in repairs, do you?
