So i have a rebuilt tranny in and cant figure why it feels like i lost power. off the line i don't have the same amount of torque as before. what can i do to help this out?

If auto, was a new or remanufactured torque converter installed?

thanks for the heads up, Its a 89 Iroc manual and the new tranny shifts fine and on time but the power does seem weak off of first gear. i cant burn out. hope i get some feed back.

And no no new converter was installed? I'm thinking this is needed to be changed as well?

There is no converter on a manual transmission, so that's not your problem. Did you install new clutch disc and pressure plate? New throwout bearing? Might also try bleeding the clutch (I'm assuming these get bled, haven't had a stick car in 20 years).
