I purchase an 87 Camaro with a 700R4. It used be a 2.8V6 in it from what i was told. The problem I have is that on the tailshaft, there is no place to screw the speedo cable into....the even bigger issue is that I dont have a bracket that mounts to the tranny that the Shifter Cable connects to. I am in search and need of this bracket. The guy I purchased the car from told me that some weird looking bracket was the right one...but when I climbed under my friends 92 and looked at his 700R4 it looks more like a Z shaped bracket that is used. One last thing...I dont see any spot to mount the Torque bar to the tail of the tranny either...seems like I might need some sort of adapter plate or something.

It sounds like the trans was from a donor car and not a camaro. The tailshaft is f-body specific for the torque arm mounting points. Are you talking about the bracket that attaches to the shifter shaft and connects to the shift cable?
