help with 700r4 bellhousing bolt removal?

im doing my first SOLO engine swap and i have no idea how to get the last 2 bellhousing bolts out, i was told to lift the engine out until the tranny tilts 30degrees or so the i will be able to get to them from underneath with a swivel socket and an impact gun... A. i dont have any swivel sockets B. i doubt the impact will fit in there, does anyone have any other ways of doing it??? thanks for your help

i keep a couple 2 foot extensions and some swivels around for tranny jobs. Makes life MUCH easier.

actually just removed everything in the way, and used a 14mm long wrench w/ like an hour of wrenching did not have to remove the crossmember or even lift up on the tranny came out way easier then i thought and itll go in real smooth now

Glad you got it. Some cars can be a bitch. My van is super easy though.. that's the one thing i like about it. I think i got my tranny back in within 30 minutes the other day, and most of that was spent trying to roll my engine hoist through the gravel from my back yard.

Re: help with 700r4 bellhousing bolt removal?

lol i went to great lengths not to have to move a hoist in gravel lol i moved my car jacked it up put ramps under it etc etc so it would be in the middle of the driveway on the asphalt, it was parked int he yard so i could use the whole driveway for the daily drivers
