Which converter?
I just installed a summit 1103 cam in my 82 305 with TPI. I noticed a nice improvement in upper rpm power but i lost quite a bit on the low end. I plan to do some intake mods in the near future to increase flow but what are some other mods i can do in the mean time to get some low end power back? higher stall converter? what rpm? I set my timing at 12* with the wire disconnected. should i run more timing?

Re: Which converter?
a new tune would help, and a little more stall.

Re: Which converter?
try the tune first. you would need to have a chip burned for your application. have you tried different fuel pressure settings?

Re: Which converter?
Any idea where i might get a chip burned? its an 85 computer, i didnt think they could be tuned like that. My fpr is set @ 50psi, i might lower that a bit and advance the timing a bit and see what happens.

Re: Which converter?
it would be best to take it to a shop and have it tuned on a dyno but it would probably be cheaper to swap to a computer friendly cam. 50psi is too much. try 45.

Re: Which converter?
I just set the advance to about 16-18* btdc (its past the stock marks) and turned down the fuel pressure to 45psi and it really seemed to like that alot! ive seen other members on this board running the summit 1103 in there tpi's so i figured it'd run okay even though it may be a bit much for a computer controlled engine. thanks for the input!
