4L80E help.
Hello all,
I am new to this site. I have been searching for some info on 4l80E ECM.
I am doing a motor and Tranny swap in a 1994 Chevy G20 cargo van. From a 4.3 v6 and a 4l60e to a 5.7 V8 and a 4l80E.
The Ecm is where I am trying to find some answers. The ECM I have in the van now is a 16197427. Will this work with the 80e? or do I need to find a Ecm from a 94 van that had a5.7 and a 4l80E? Can I have my ecm programmed form my new combo? Any help would be awesome!
Thanks!

Re: 4L80E help.
you need to have an ecm for a van with a 4l80e in it. depending on what year the 4l80e is will decide if your pcm can take the tune needed. if you had a v6 pcm then no it will not have it. you could look for the same year van pcm that had a 4l80e in it and that one will work.
Re: 4L80E help.
My trans is not shifting....goes from first to second then goes into limp mode i believe. Down to the stopsign and back shifted to second and stays in second on the way back. I can switch it off and wait 30 sec and crank it back up and it does the same thing.Checked the codes and showes a bad CTS but I replaced both and still cant clear the code.I replaced both speed sensors and trans fluid and filter...Plz help!!! This is the only thing making me want to sell my truck and get rid of it all.

Re: 4L80E help.
Vanman I do believe there is a harness adapter for your trans that can go from 4l65e to a 4l80e. Then you just need to tweak the programing.
