Car: 1988 iroc
Engine: 350 tpi
Transmission: t-5
Axle/Gears: stock
stumped on what gears are in my car...

i have a 1988 305 iroc with a 5speed trans. i want to upgrade my gears but i need to kno what my original gears are so i can decide whats best for me. would anyone know the original gears in my car? ive done a search and i found a lot on gears but i couldnt find the original gears for my exact car.

so according to that first link (the second one wouldnt load cause im on a P.O.S. school computer) i either have a 3.08 or a 3.45? also, i forgot to mention i have a 10 bolt rear so im assuming its a 3.45

3.45 is a 9-bolt.

hes right that is a 9 bold u either have 2.73 , 3.23 or 3.73 gears for stock ten bolt for a camaro im pretty sure correct me if im wrong

Axle/Gears: 2.73 posi, 3.06 posi

Take off the cover and turn the ring gear untill you see a set of numbers stamped into it... will look something like '41:12' or something like that. Thats the number of teeth on the ring and pinion gears. Do the math and it will tell you the ratio. Then you know for sure.

The 10-bolt FAQ above provides the numbers for the different ratios.
