So I checked why my driveshaft is vibrating and the back of the transmission slip yoke is making a metalic sound while i move it back and forth and I could be wrong because the front u joints are behind it.


How do I fix this and is it possible to break a slip yoke?


The front of the driveshaft moves about half an inch and all I hear is metal on metal banging like someone too a hammer to front of the driveshaft. But the front defently moves more then the rear. Its a good car verything works besides that.

Thinking about selling it for 3000 or so

 

the trans yoke is moving a half inch, or the driveshaft yoke is moving? sounds like a u-joint. I cant see how the treans yoke could move that much and the car still be drivable.

fix? have the u-joints (front and rear) replaced

 

take the driveshaft out and check the joints this was you can see whats moving around in there
