Of using the AC condenser for a tranny cooler.....Opinions please...I did this on my last 700r4 Camaro, and it seemed to do fine, Just rebuilt the tranny, and put in a 2400 stall....

Pros'
It is free
It is already there
It is big

What are the cons, Thank you very much, Tom Shaw

Not sure if having the AC oil going through the trans is good.

Re: Pro's, and Con's

It will be taken out, and cleaned...No chance of contaminates, then after it is run a few more days, I am going to change the fluid again, since the tranny is new.... Thank you very much for your replys...BTW, I am changing the radiator at the same time, just to be sure the cooling system is in perfect shape..If anyone needs the old one they are welcome to it, it is good...Any more thoughts on this subject????

Re: Pro's, and Con's

Its been done since way back in the day, the only problem is if the trans run to cool, not sure on the temp range but know its why its runs through the radiator stock, the hot coolant is colder then the trans fluid, cooling it enough in a stock situation.

probably search trans temp gauge threads for a proper range to be in.

I should know as I run a extra trans cooler but its about the size of a small note book so Im not worried about running to cool
