Howling 9 bolt axle need help.

I havent had this car long. The rear axle howls when under power and stops when you let off the gas. I thought it was the gears maybe it is, The backlash between the pinion and ring gear was excessive so I shimmed it to spec. It made no difference so I am asking for help. Thanks

I would have thought low fluid, then bearings // seals, then just worn out.

Re: Howling 9 bolt axle need help.

time to trash it.

swap in a 10 bolt.

parts are cheaper and easier to find

the posi cones eat up the carrier and fill the rear with metal.
