Easier to swap a 350 into a 5 speed car - that way you already have pedals, no need to drill out firewall for pedals, etc.
BUT - the 350 will kill the 5speed sooner or later - that's why GM never offered a 5speed in a 350 car - it won't hold up long. Best thing is getting a 5 speed car, swap the 350 AND a T56 manual from a 4th gen. The T5 will last for awhile if you baby it, allowing you time to save/find a T56.

Welcome, James 94, to TGO.
I've been running a non-WC behind a 350/330 for a number of years without difficulty. I suggest, based on my own experience, that if you drive in a reasonable, law-abiding manner the trans will last as long as if it were fronted with a 305. Driving your car hard is, of course, a different story.
