Transmission Noise

Hi, wondering what inside the transmission could cause a ticking noise, its pretty loud and the faster i go the faster it ticks, it was rebuilt about 10000 ago and it doesnt slip or have any shifting problems... i just did a ls1 rearend swap but the noise is coming from the transmission im sure... could changing gear ratios cause any problem like this?

Re: Transmission Noise

Does it increase with engine speed, or with vehicle speed?

Re: Transmission Noise

I do, but I just realized it is coming from near the transmission. I bought the car without the AIR tubes connected to the cat, so I always thought it was an exhaust leak causing the ticking. but, when I plugged it, and stuck my head to listen, it sounds like it's coming from my transmissin/torque converter area. I can't hear it as loud from up above the engine, which leads me to believe, i hope, it's not my lifters.
