D is no Go

when in OD, trans shifts fine (well cept under WOT, have to let off gas for it to shift).
When in D, the car doesn't seem to want to move, feels like it is hung up. Honestly, I haven't tried it much beyond noticing something is off, don't want to keep trying and cause damage.
any ideas here?
