A TH-350 doesnt have overdrive. Its only a 3 speed.

Do you have enough motor for a 4500 stall, or do you have a basically stock motor?

There's some work you can do to a TH350 but none of it is cheap. You need to change a bunch of internal parts to make it stronger. It would be cheaper and better to use a TH400 if you're making that much power.

A TH400 is strong in factory condition and can be made even better with fewer aftermarket components providing you can find the better factory parts. Not all TH400's are the same.

A PG with some aftermarket parts can take a lot of abuse.

To use a 4500 stall converter, you're going to need a camshaft with at least 300-310 degrees of advertised duration. That would be a race only camshaft. Not too many street cams fall into that range.

A shift kit is just a basic hydraulic circuit reprogram. To make quick firm shifts, the wafer steels in the clutch packs need to be removed and replaced with flat steels. The same goes for all the automatic transmissions.

I use a basic PG in my car with only a few aftermarket parts in it. It also uses a manual valve body with a transbrake. The transbrake allows me to launch at the converter's full stall speed but I use a 2-step to launch at a lower RPM. My converter stalls at 6200 rpm but I find my best launches around 5500. When driving down the return road at part throttle, when I shift from low to high, the gears change with a bang. There's no mushy gear change. I don't notice it as much when going down the track at WOT.
