Parts list for 9 Bolt swap
9 bolt disc brake differential from an '89 Camaro going into a 10 bolt drum brake '92 RS.
The 9 bolt has the 11.66" rotors and PBR Calipers
Putting together a parts list.
First, the swap. My understanding is this is a direct swap, with the only things needing to be changed being the proportioning valve, the emergency brake cables, and possibly the brake lines. Is that correct?
On the emergency brake cables, do you need to change the front one, or just the passenger and driver's side rear cables?
In 1989, was the 11.66" rotor and the PBR caliper the only rear disc brake option?
Proportioning valve:
I was not able to find any proportioning valves. In another thread, ebmiller88 says the correct proportioning valve is PN 10164112, but that is for the 1LE Front, PBR rear combination. This car still has stock front brakes. Is that the correct proportioning valve for this application?
Will ebmiller88's modded proportioning valve work in this application? It's awfully inexpensive at 35 bucks.
