How to fix downshift...

I got my 700r4 in and working well. So here is my problem:

When I'm in OD and mash the throttle the car shifts down to 3 which is great. But I figured when driving 65 (give or take) and I floor it to WOT it would shift down to 2.

I have adjusted the TV cable 4 times with same result. Also the tranny shifts into 2, 3, and 4 right around 2k rpms under light acceleration.

Thanks,
Chas

At 65mph, I don't think tranny would shift that low. It will kick out of TC lockup, and kickdown to 3rd, but at 65 it's not going down to 2nd - too many rpms (keep in mind these cars stock were redlined at what, 5800 or 6000?).

You've just come upon why I _hate_ automatics. Its never in the right gear. I love the feeling of going from 5th to 3rd (and then punching it) on the highway with a manual car.
