Turbo 350
Turbo 350
I was just wondering if anyone out there had a Turbo 350 behind their 350 TPI. If so what did you guys use for kickdown linkage? Lokar? were there any other surprises with the swap. Thanks for the help.

Re: Turbo 350
There's nothing wrong with using a TH350. It will survive behind any engine just as easily as the 700R4 will.
When I had a TH350 in my car, I was using an aftermarket shifter so I have no idea how a factory system would work. My car was also modified for track only so I didn't have to worry about how to hook up the detent cable and I didn't have to run a manifold vaccum line down to the modulator valve.
The tranny crossmember needs to be replaced or modified. The TH350 mount is about 2" forward from where the 700R4 mount sits.
If you use the long 9" tailshaft TH350, you can use the 700R4's driveshaft. If you use the short 6" tailshaft TH350, you need the longer driveshaft found in the 82-83 third gen with a 200c 3 speed tranny or have a driveshaft custom made.
