it stood up, burned out, drifted, dragged, boosted, sprayed, and finally its dead.

took out the ring gear on my drum brake 10bolt. its started as a posi unit from in my l69 camaro. 3.73gears now its one tire fryer, and missing some teeth on the ring gear, and spiders are bad. lucky me i got a disk brake 10bolt form a gta, picked it up for 100$ lsd in good shape. new brakes. even got the proportion valve. dont know gears yet. now for the install. ill get some pics tomorrow. and i am going to install the poly bushings while i am in there.

 

got it all in and changed, new brakes, its nice to have posi again, but man the drop in gear ratio sucks, i think i am going to go to 4.10's.

 

dont put 4.10s in a 3rd gen 10 bolt...


it will break much easier.

 

i never had a problem with mine untill now, but it also had over 300k on it, and i put it in some bad stuff... drifting, hard luanches, even had 650hp in front of it. now that i am using the car for auto cross i just want alittle quicker acceleration
