i set the shifter linkage with the trans and shifter in neutral, but when i rev the motor in park the car backs up. since the brakes aren't finished yet this can be a bit scary. i adjusted the tv cable once but have since readjusted the shifter linkage to try and solve the problem. i feel like i'm doing something out of order. any ideas?

 

TV cable has nothing to do with it - it's with the shifter cable - maybe it needs more adjustment, maybe it's the wrong cable. Where did you get it at?

I went through 3 shifter cables - the ONLY place I could find that didn't sell the same old crap made in India was the dealer - more expensive, but it's the only one I found that works.

 

reply to an old post, when i was adusting the shifter cable i was not pushing the shift linkage ALL the way up into park. kind of messes things up.
