I wanted to know if I can swap an 85 700r4 with an 82 200c tranny. 82 Camero body & interior are shot. Found a very nice deal on 85 but it has tranny problems. My 200c has abt 50mi on rebuild before car thrashed. Any input helpful.

 

Shouldn't be too much of a problem. The computer might be a little confused by never seeing it in O/D, but I don't know if that'll ever have any real-world effect.

 

The better question is should you swap a 700R4 for a 200C, and the answer is no. Technically you'll have all the parts you need from the 82 donor car, but you'd be downgrading the car.
