Short Stick for T5
Does anyone make a short stick for our cars? If so, please tell me where I can get one. I know about Lou's for 93-02 F-Bodies, but I'm not sure that one is compatible. I know I can get a Pro 5.0 or Hurst shifter, but I'm just looking to buy a shorter stick, not change out the factory shifter. This is for an 87 IROC btw.
Thanks for the advice!

Not possible, the factory shifter is a 1 piece deal, it's not like you can unscrew or unbolt the stick from the base plate.
The exposed stick, the piece your shift **** screws onto, is part of the same hunk of metal that fits inside the nylon bushing in the transmission and moves the shifter rail

Re: Short Stick for T5
Some of the earlier t-5s had a two peice shift lever. I have one out of an 84 that is threaded together. The lower end is probably 3 inches and slightly curved. The top part that the ball screws onto is a straight 8" long hollow tube. I would think this part could be cut and re-threaded to shorten the length. I also have a newer one, '88 I think, that looks like it is two peice but I can't seperate it. It looks like some sort of rubber connection. That one also looks like it could just be shortened and re-threaded.
