need help asap
I need to pull the trans out of my car.
Its locked up and stuck in fifth gear. Refusing to come out.
I dont wanna pull the bell housing. Just the trans and leave the clutch and everything in.
Is it possible.
Im getting a used tranny this week. and i have the car sold. Hes waiting to buy it till the trans is in it.
I wanna get this project started tonight.
Can someone advice me on how to do this?
Thanks

Re: need help asap
should work, since you install the trans with the bell and clutch assembly already bolted up to the engine. You will have to take the shifter off though.
just be aware that you cannot push in the clutch pedal while the trans is out of the clutch disc will fall out of position and it will be a PITA to get it right without taking the bell off. (Taking the bell off is not a big deal) just 6 bolts or so. The clutch and pressire plate are bolted to the flywheel and will stay in place if you pull the bell.
how old is the clutch? it might not be a bad idea to change it while its all apart, jstu throwing it out there.
