T-56 Transmission Gear change couse of 4.10
Hi everybody,
I have a 93´ LT1 Trans Am with T-56 and 3.23 rearend.
I did a lot of searching but found nothing helpful, so I hope you can help me, because at transmissioncenter.com I only found info how to swap the drive- and driven gear in a Th700R4...
So I need to know how to change the drive gear in the T-56 (where to open, how to remove the outputshaft, do I have to remove the trans...), what drive- and driven gear do I need and where can I buy them to get the right speed shown for my new 4.10 rearaxle ratio.
Thanks for your help,
Rob

OEM T56's all had electronic VSS sensors. All speedo/gear calibrations have to be done in the ECM tune unless you want to waste money and use a calibration box (dakota, etc.) to do the change electrically.

You have to reprogram the chip in the ECM. The '93 was still EEPROM based. You can read/post in the PROM/ECM forum if you need assistance with it..
