V6 & V8 Transmissions

Can anyone confirm for me whether or not the 92 V8 and V6 use the same transmission? I have a 92 V6 with a 5 speed that I am building into a drag car and someone with a V8 is wanting to buy the transmission out of mine for a spare. Thanks in advance for your input.

Third gen Camaros and Firebirds came with 60 degree v6s that have a different bellhousing pattern from the v8s.
