What kind of rear do I have?

Hey guys, when I bought my 87 firebird the kid selling told me it had a borg-warner rear. I find that hard to believe because of the drums on it. Its just a firebird with 305, qjet on top and 4spd automatic. Any ideas of what unit it is or how to tell?

Count the bolts on the cover: 9 or 10.

Yea, it's not hard to tell. If it has 9 bolts in the cover it's the Borg Warner and if it has 10 bolts then it's the GM 7.5. The Borg Warner also has a rubber plug in the cover for adding oil.
