bellhousing in third gen
Hi
I bought a T10 last days, and i want to know if i can use a bellhousing for a muncie that come from a 79 corvette.
I want to use throw out bearing ,so no zbar
is there a clearance problem or it will fit
because impossible for me to find a bellhousing of camaro 82,and the Lakewood one is a little bit expensive for me

Re: bellhousing in third gen
All manual transmissions, with a Z-bar or otherwise, use a throwout bearing. That part is REQUIRED for clutch operation.
It should be possible to use that bell housing with a hydraulic throwout bearing however. Not sure if that would be cheaper than an aftermarket bell housing though; I'm think, probably not.

82 F-body, Lakewood 15015 or 84-88 Corvette have the proper fork angle.
The 79 Corvette bellhousing may have floor clearance issues and the lower linkage pushrod to fork angle probably won't be correct.

The hydraulic throwout system will avoid the clutch fork interference issues (the fork you have to use with the Corvette BH would have to go RIGHT THROUGH the floor, the gas pedal, and the driver's right foot) but will require the pedal assembly with reinforcing brackets out of a 84-up Camaro or Firebird (to get the clutch pedal that has the right attachment for the hyd master cylinder) and of course a master cylinder installed.
