Car: camaro iroc-z
Engine: 305 tpi
Transmission: 5 speed
transmission load is making my engine stall?
its an 86 305 tpi camaro with a 700r4. when in park the idle is high. around 1200. same thing in neutral. but when its in every engaged gear my engine will bog down a lot and then idle at about 800, a little lopey but still living. any ideas?

Stock camshaft? If the camshaft has too much duration, a stock converter can stall it out.
There's also a possibility of a bad converter or transmission.

try discconecting the lock up switch does it do it when its warm? or cold
