Hey guys. I have a stock non-posi rear end in my 89 RS...i have the opportunity to get a posi/disc rear for 150...he says it came out of a 91 trans am with 3.73 gears...he doesnt know much about mileage or anything but he says its in good shape. Is this a deal or should i wait until i come across a different one? what would u guys expect to pay for a rear end like this?

 

is it gonna be complete, calipers rotors ebrake cable and proportioning valve? you will need all that for your swap to work

 

The rear end is complete...idk about the e brake cables and the prop. valve..ill have to ask about it

 

Sounds like a good deal to me if it's in good shape.

You will also be upgrading to 28 spline axles with this swap.

 

That's about what I paid for my 4thgen posi disc rear, and I had to pull it myself. It was only 3.23s though but I already had a set of 3.73 gears to go into it. If it truly has 3.73s in it, then its a good deal. Double check the gear ratio before you buy it.

 

If he dose not know a lot...It could be a 2:73 ratio. No Factory stock 3:73 ratio in any 91 TA's.
