Clutch Pedal Won't return to "UP" position...
Quick question,
I recently picked up an 83 Trans Am, factory T-5.
While shifting gears, or basically anytime I push the clutch pedal down, it stays down. I need to pull it back up with the tip of my toe. Has anyone else encountered something similar.
I haven't had a chance to get it up in the air and poke around underneath just yet. Wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to save some diagnostic time.
Thanks for your input ladies and gents.
(I tried searching and going through the boards but couln't find anything addressing this issue.)

The clutch itself is the spring; so most likely, that's what needs repair.
That should be the linkage type of actuator. Consider swapping to hydraulics if you have to tear it apart.

Ouch. I was crossing my fingers on not having to drop the trans... Well I guess I need a game plan then.
So I'm guessing I have a mechanical/cable clutch set up and not a hydraulic clutch because its an 83 correct?

Not hydraulic; it's mechanical linkage. Just like an old 4-speed. Not a cable. (thank goodness)
