Speedometer Cable Broken
i have an 83 camaro z28 i went to change my speedometer out since it was no longer working. after pulling the whole dash apart i finally reached it pulled the old one and placed a new speeo in its spot only to find it still was not working. i pulled everything off again and found the little red shaft inside the jacket of the speedo cable was in two pieces. any sugestions on what to do next? i was thinking change the cable out but please let me know. thanks

Make sure your speedometer odometer gears turn easily and for dozens of spins of the input shaft in the back of it.
(I've had a trip odometer get stuck. The speedo was otherwise fine and tried to work, but the trip odo. kept things from working properly.)
