Need help ASAP rebuilding a T5! Please

I am rebuilding a T5. My brother bought it and wanted it rebuilt even though there was no known problem with it. I am putting it back together now and have two pieces that I cant find a home for and a decent amount of back and forth play on the 3rd gear on the output shaft. As in you can slide 3rd gear back and forth on the output shaft towards 2nd gear and towards the 3/4 syncro.

The two pieces I am missing a home for are a washer that is .155" thick and .650" inches in diameter. It has an opening big enough to slide it over the output shaft.

The other piece is a needle bearing/ washer assembly. The needle bearing piece fits into the washer. The diagram I am looking at shows it going in front of the 5th gear syncro along with a .125" thick washer. Problem is that there is only room for the washer. The bearing seems out of place.

The diagram I am looking at is not exactly what the trans looks like inside. Some of it is different. The trans is a Non world class and supposedly out of a 86 TA. Please please help. I have to have this done early tomorrow morning so I can have the auto to stick swap done by tomorrow evening.

I can take pics if anyone needs to see exactly what I'm talking about.

THe washer sounds to me like the one that goes on the countergear, right in front of the rear countergear bearing (which is the same as the axle bearing for a 10-bolt BTW).

The Torrington, if it's small (maybe 1¼" dia or less) sounds like the one that goes in the back of the countergear, behind 5th. Should be a little plastic funnel that goes with it.

The 3rd gear thing sounds like either the 3-4 hub is not on all the way, or is turned backwards. Nothing else goes there.

Thank you. I actually found two washers that are almost the same size, but not exaxtly. Then when you said about the counter shaft, I looked at it closer and realized there is a washer on either side of the bearing. I never took the counter shaft out so both of the washers I have are the new ones.

I then realized that bearing actually fits in the tailshaft and rides up against the thick washer that holds 5th on. The bearing doesnt fit on the counter shaft itself.

I will try to get the 3/4 syncro on a little farther. I'm 99.9% sure its not on the wrong way. I remember that with it flipped one way it pushes itself too far away from 3rd to actually engage it. It engages fine the way I have it now. So it probably does just need to go a little farther on.

Thanks for the help. I have a million things on my mind and dont even want to be rebuilding this stupid thing, but its going to pay for the vacation I so desperately need. I was about to have a break down though if I couldnt figure this thing out.

It's alot easier to assemble the transmission if you stick the Torrington and its race (the thick washer) to the end of the countergear with some thick NON-FIBER grease, than if you put it in the extension housing.

I'm trying to recall whether there's a snap ring holding the hub on... seems like there is. It wears such that it will only go on easily in the exact spline mating that it had been in before; it will work fine regardless, just take more force to put it on.
