700R4 No OD, safe to drive home?
Hi All,
My 89' RS would not shift into OD this am. All other gears are smooth. Hopefully it's a TV cable adjustment. Am I damaging the tranny by driving it? Fluid is not burnt, but could use a flush. Tranny has 100K on it. I noticed it would go in and out of OD at 70 recently.
Thanks for any help.
Dave

You can adjust the TV cable fairly easy.
I lost OD shift on my OEM 700-R4... by the time I got to the transmission shop (15 miles away). I'd lost each gear including 1st.
I know I sound like a broken record, but I would call Dana. He builds racing versions of 700-R4 for a living so he knows far more than I do.
